Did you know ICM is providing ongoing recruitment and training support to Saipem?

We are supporting the Scarabeo 9 reactivation, providing Crew Familiarization System Training (CFST) on all the main equipment onboard, as well as Rig Performance Coaching for this campaign in Angola.

Training began in July 2021 prior to the rig mobilisation, this ensured the crew was fully familiarized with their equipment and assessed prior to any operational activities. Coaching will also continue for the drilling team during the rig start up.

The Scarabeo 9 is a last generation semisubmersible unit, equipped with a dual RamRig and Dynamic Positioning (DP3) system. The Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) is an ultra-deep water drilling unit and it is designed to operate in a water depth of up to 12,000ft and drilling depth capacity of up to 50,000ft below the rotary table.

This rig is a powerful and complex dual hydraulic ram rig as it is highly automatized, requiring specific preparation.
