ICM Group forged a partnership with a Brazilian firm to implement a bespoke Human Factors Coaching program aboard a semi-submersible rig, underlining the pivotal importance of human elements in ensuring operational safety. Our customized training was designed to elevate crew consciousness and proficiency in handling human-centric risks effectively.
Human Factors Training
Over a span of two months, a specialized trainer was assigned to address the unique operational demands of our partner’s semi-submersible rig. The coaching encompassed critical areas such as crew behavior, effective communication, decision-making processes, situational awareness, and error management strategies. The objective was to arm the crew with essential insights and skills for identifying, reducing, and averting human errors that pose risks to operational safety.
Impact and Results
The Human Factors initiative spearheaded by ICM Group in Brazil significantly advanced operational safety standards. This targeted training enhanced the crew’s understanding of human-related risks and their repercussions on operational efficacy. By improving their aptitude in recognizing and navigating human factors, the team was better positioned to preemptively address potential errors, fostering a safer and more efficient working environment on the semi-submersible rig.
